Jeff Wirick

November 2009

Friends and Loved ones,

We are pleased to share with you that our baby girl, Hosanna Hitomi Wirick, has been born into this world!  We are rejoicing and want to share our joy with you all.  Hosanna is doing wonderfully.  Mommy is sore and in recovery but doing well.  Daddy is trying to keep up.  We praise the Lord for what He has done for us.  “For Thou, O LORD hast made me glad by what Thou hast done, I will sing for joy at the works of Thy hands!” Psalm 92

Love,

Jeff and Mie

Welcome to Baby Hosanna!

2008 Update

Captain Jeff Wirick (U.S. Army) departed Fort Drum, New York in February of 2006 to accompany his unit, along with other units from the 10th Mountain Division, to the Bagram Air Force Base outside of Kabul, Afghanistan. They returned from Afghanistan in February, 2007. Currently, Jeff is stationed with an Army unit in Vilseek, Germany, providing ministry at the base Protestant chapel.

From Afghanistan, Jeff wrote, “As we are anticipating redeployment to the “homeland” I thought it appropriate to write a note and express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who prayed for me and my family and sent care-packages. The notes, the cards, the letters, and yes the goodies, all meant a lot to me and encouraged me very much.

So, I would ask you to pray, mostly for the people of Afghanistan that they would have eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts to understand what is happening and what is coming to their country. Wars have been fought since the beginning for countless reasons, but I know that in it all, the Lord is sovereign and history is really His story of redemption of mankind. So in the politics, the religious fervor, and sometimes quite literally, the madness, my prayer for you all is: to sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts and to allow His peace to rule as a sign of things to come.
